     Mark Lishen, AIA has been a Professional Architect for over 33 years.  He has served on the Board of Aldermen representing Ward 5 since August 2004 and is currently in his fourth term. 

     Mark is a Partner with Eley Guild Hardy Architects, an architectural firm with offices in Biloxi and Jackson, MS and serves as Principal-in-Charge of Business Development for Federal and Department of Defense projects overseeing hundreds of million dollars’ worth of construction throughout the Southeastern United States.

     Mark grew up in Long Beach and graduated from Long Beach High School in 1975 before leaving to pursue an architectural degree at Mississippi State University.  He earned a Bachelor of Architecture from MSU in 1983 and lived in Memphis, TN for seventeen years before returning to Long Beach with his family in January 2000.  He is married to Donna Hobbs Lishen and has two sons, Ethan and Carter. 

     Mark is a current member of the American Institute of Architects and was past president of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Section of the American Institute of Architects. He is a past graduate of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Gulf Coast Program, the Gulf Coast Business Council Master’s Class and Mississippi Economic Council’s Leadership Mississippi. 

     In his spare time, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and attending Mississippi State football games.
