City of Long Beach

Chief of Police - Wayne McDowell

To All Long Beach Residents,

The opportunity to serve as your Chief of Police is a responsibility I both honor and welcome. You will find that I am dedicated to providing and maintaining the highest level of police service deserved and expected by our community. Our success is dependent upon community partnerships. I will continue to build these partnerships to improve the quality of life for all citizens of Long Beach.

Thank you to the employees of the Long Beach Police Department for their dedicated service to our community. These men and women were put through the most challenging times that any public safety professional would experience in August 2005 when the worst national disaster, Hurricane Katrina, devastated our community. They continued serving our community throughout this challenging time and remain a very dedicated force.

On behalf of the Long Beach Police Department, I would like to express appreciation for the support we receive from the citizens, the Mayor and City Council and City Staff, and all members of the Long Beach community. Your support and understanding provides the basis for the professional service of the Long Beach Police Department. Your comments are always welcome. If you would like to contact me, I can be reached by email at chief@cityoflongbeachms.com or call (228) 865-1985.

Sincerely,
Wayne McDowell, Chief
